Not Your Typical Self-Help Seminar

Are you feeling lost? Disconnected? Discouraged? Overwhelmed?

No, there isn’t anything wrong with you. 

This is the basis of my seminar, and it’s an essential starting point. Why? Because self-help books and courses will tell you what you need to do to “be a better you.” But what if you aren’t the problem? 

I’ll repeat this because it’s essential: There isn’t anything wrong with you. There is, however, plenty that is wrong with society and the systems we live within. 

The beliefs we have about the world have come from these systems. But often, instead of changing our beliefs, we focus on changing our habits or activities. This is how we fall into a loop, getting stuck in a pattern of trying the same things over and over again to change or improve our lives. There’s a reason it doesn’t work, and the reason is NOT that you’re “not trying hard enough.”

This seminar isn’t about “doing more” or “self-improvement.” I’m not going to add any tasks to your to-do list or guilt you into eating healthier or waking up earlier. These can be quick fixes for simple problems, but we are complex beings, and to live a life of fulfillment, we need more than quick fixes.

This seminar is about digging deep, understanding yourself, and finding out what you can do to help improve your life—starting right now.

So, I welcome you to try something different with me! The first thing to understand is how the systems you live within have affected you. Then, you can begin to look at how you can create real, genuine change in your life.

I have read all the self-help books and *know* what I “should” be doing, but never seem able to do it.

I’m tired of thinking “this time it’ll be different,” only for it to be exactly the same outcome as the last 20 times I’ve tried it.

I’m sick and tired of thinking that it’s my fault and there is something wrong with me—why can’t I seem to figure it out while others seem to do it easily?

I often wonder why I feel this way and how I ended up where I am in life.

I feel stuck and unable to move forward.

I feel overwhelmed by an emotion, belief, or feeling and I can’t seem to “let go” of it.

If you answered “yes” to any (or many!) of these, you are not alone in feeling this way. I felt it myself for a very long time, and in order to get to the bottom of these feelings, I had to take a very different approach than the ones usually offered.

The Real Question

This seminar made me realize I’m not failing because I don’t meditate or journal every day and I don’t need to incorporate all the things into my life. That what I really need to work on are the core reasons I am quick to freeze and self destruct with any negativity and work on using my voice and being uncomfortable more.

What are you actually searching for?

Most people think that losing ten pounds, being more productive, eating healthier, journalling or meditating regularly is what they need to focus on doing in order to improve their lives. But they haven’t actually asked themselves, “what do I want to feel?  And are doing these things actually helping me achieve that feeling?”

What many people really want to feel goes much deeper than just focusing on losing ten pounds or eating healthier.  What you may really be looking for is to:

My Story

I loved Kims approach. The information was layed out very well and I also loved how she took time in-between worksheets for us to re-ground ourselves. The valuable information I gained from this course was the reminder that we all deal with our trauma in different ways and it’s up to us to not re-write the past but deal with where we currently are.

I created this seminar for people who felt like I did back in 2018/2019. I had reached a low point in my life where I felt like I was completely broken. In my mind, I was a failure and I sucked at life. I felt broken, empty, and lost, and I didn’t know what to do to make myself feel better.

So, without knowing any better, I did what most people do when they feel this way… I turned to the industries of self-help, personal development, spirituality, and health and wellness. The promise sold to me within these industries—when I was in a very overwhelmed, vulnerable, and desperate state—was that if I just got up early, exercised daily, ate healthy meals, had a positive mindset, got out in nature, meditated, became more “spiritual,” and kept gratitude journals, I would finally be happy. I would turn my life around and become this person with everything I ever wanted and basically be killing it in life.

Boy, was that ever a lie!

As a parent to two very young children and not having an overabundance of time, money, or support (which I’d argue is the case for the MAJORITY of the population), I was not able to do all the things I was *supposed* to do to improve my life.

*cue me falling into a worse state than I already was*

My constant thought pattern looked something like this:

“I’m a failure!”

“I can’t do anything right!”

“I never show up for myself!”

“Why can’t I ever put myself first?”

“It’s all my fault!”

“I’m not dedicated enough!”

“I’m weak!”

“I need to believe in myself more!”

“I need to be more positive!”

“Why can’t I just do it?”

“Why do I suck so much?”

And these industries were right there alongside me, gaslighting me and convincing me that yup, it WAS my fault. They told me this:

“You have a scarcity mindset. You need to think more abundantly!”

“It’s because you’re not thinking positively enough or because you don’t have enough gratitude!”

“You just need to buy this course for $999 and it will magically make you feel better and solve all your problems… ((but if it doesn’t work, it’s because you didn’t believe in it enough to make it work!”))

These industries, like the dieting and beauty industries, make false promises and exploit people’s vulnerabilities. They thrive on taking advantage of people when they are at their lowest. They use distraction techniques to keep you focused on issues that aren’t actually the issue; this keeps you perpetually stuck, believing it’s your own fault, and buying into more of their “solutions.”

When I finally reached my *second* breaking point, at a time when I was just trying to exist and survive, I completely divested from these industries and felt like I blindly moved forward, not knowing what I was doing. HOWEVER, what I discovered while doing this was that I’m not a failure. I can improve my life and how I feel. Doing it just looks completely different than what I was made to believe it should look like.

Now, having gone through the hardest time in my life—having a complete breakdown of identity in 2018/2019, and experiencing a global pandemic for two years—I have arrived somewhere new.

Who I am and how I feel have completely changed. My life and relationships have so much more depth and richness. I have a deep sense of trust within myself. I am no longer controlled by my emotions or the beliefs I had created about myself. I have power over my life and how I feel again. I know that I can have a positive impact on my life and those around me.

By no means do I have everything figured out (no one does, so please don’t believe anyone who says they do!) But who I am, how I feel, and how I show up in my life are all completely different than before.

Maybe even better than my own personal growth has been the ability to help other people gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. There is something so energizing about giving people what they need to feel powerful, confident, and calm in their lives and hopeful about what they can create and do.

This is where my purpose comes in, and where this seminar comes in.

A New Path Forward

I was honestly blown away with how hard it hit me in terms of how I’d been feeling on my “self help” journey – a lot of money spent with little to no answers. Now I realize that it’s my own walls that are preventing me from changing and it made me reflect on how deeply those roots go.

Let’s check in—how are you feeling today?

Ask yourself, compared to 2, 3, or 4 years ago, how are you feeling? If you are like most people after over two years of living through a pandemic, you might feel more stressed and burnt out than ever before. This is totally normal, considering the circumstances. The systems we live in are not designed to help support us or take care of us through an experience like this.

In fact, our society and culture were moving in this direction before the pandemic; stress was constantly increasing, and anxiety and depression were on the rise. The pandemic exponentially increased the progression of these issues, and now everyone is at their max capacity.

So, what do we do?

How can we actually accomplish deep, meaningful, sustainable improvement in our lives?

Typical self help doesn’t cut it.  We need a new way of looking at ourselves and the systems we live within.

This is what leads to foundation-level change. Change that sticks. Change that doesn’t feel impossible or overwhelming.

I created this seminar for the people who felt like I did back in 2018 and don’t know what direction to go. It will shift your perspective on yourself, people around you, and the culture and systems you live within.

You may be asking yourself, “Kim works in the wellness industry. How is she any different from the rest of them? How is this seminar going to be any different than other seminars that promised to improve my life but ended up being the same thing?”

1. I consider myself to be an outlier within the wellness industry. I was completely manipulated and taken advantage of within these industries when I was at my lowest. I have completely divested from their manipulative marketing techniques and aim to be totally transparent.  I am not here to sell you a magic miracle. This seminar will not fix all your problems overnight, but it will give you a solid foundation to work from and possibly shift your entire perspective of who you are and how to improve your life.

2. I will not ask you to add anything more into your life. Most of us are at our limits. We don’t have the time or space to add MORE into our lives. Most of the time, after this seminar, people are actually able to cut things out of their lives. It releases this pressure and shame of “should” or “supposed to” that people have become so comfortable living with. What you will learn in this seminar will not require more of your time, just more intention in the things you are already doing.

3. I will not gaslight you into thinking that you just need to think more positively or become more spiritual. Nor will I make you believe that you should be able to improve your life overnight. This seminar is grounded in the reality of what people are facing right now. I’m not going to sugarcoat the stress and trauma that we have all been through, including these past few years. It isn’t about ignoring it or even trying to put a positive spin on the current situation you find yourself in; it’s about facing your reality and taking your power back in a system designed to make you feel powerless.

4. This seminar isn’t a “lead magnet” to get you to work with me. I’m not going to intentionally withhold information that could help you and only give it to you if you work with me one on one (talk about manipulative marketing 101!)

    What is talked about in this seminar will have the information and techniques for you to implement immediately into your life. That being said, this seminar is not directly tailored to you and what you are specifically going through. It is based on the overall general experience of what I went through and what my clients have gone through. It’s the foundation of everything I’ve learned thus far.

    Some people feel like they need more support and specific advice on their situation and choose to work with me afterwards or down the road. I believe that everyone needs support and guidance at some point, so whether you choose to work with me or someone else, it’s completely up to you. Either way, this seminar will give you guidance on what to look for and what to look out for when you’re seeking support.

    What to Expect

    I’m someone who can get in my own head about what’s going on in my life and I’m constantly wondering “what’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just (insert “healthy” habit here) so I can feel better?” What a breath of fresh air to learn about strategies that aren’t going to increase my stress levels by adding more to my to-do list, but instead, add to my understanding of myself and the world around me. After taking this seminar, I feel more confident in being myself. I also have the tools I need to deal with some very long-standing and deep-rooted issues that suddenly make sense. Kim helped me completely shift my perspective, and the seminar itself was so enjoyable and interactive. I could see that everyone there was walking out with clarity and hope.     This seminar is going to ask you to dig deep. It will ask you to face some things within you that you’ve been trying to ignore or possibly aren’t even aware of. It requires you to come in with an open mind, a willingness to do things differently, to see things differently, and to shift your perspective and take back your power.

    It is not a seminar for people who want to fight for their powerlessness, continually blame others, or expect someone else to heal them without having to change anything about themselves. It is not for those who just want to stay the same and not challenge any beliefs.

    Here’s how I’ll guide you through:

    1. The seminar will start with an inquiry into what it is you are experiencing right now. What’s currently going on in your life and what are the biggest issues you are facing? What is it that you want to change in your life?

    2. Next, we’ll dive deep into the different types of conditioning we have gone through and how they have brought us to this point in our lives. How did you get here? Why are you feeling this way? We learn that it isn’t a personal fault or because of something wrong with us; it’s the way we’ve intentionally and unintentionally been conditioned to feel and be.

    3. Then we move into the real question: What can you do about it now? How do you improve your life moving forward once you find out why you are this way? If you aren’t going to engage with the industries of self-help, then what do you do? This will serve as a guide and a foundation for what to do moving forward.

    4. The session will end with an explanation of what I do and how I support clients in one-on-one sessions. I will explain what subconscious imprinting is (one of the main modalities I use in my practice), and we will end with a group subconscious imprinting session.

She doesn’t speak or act in a bypassy way and truly walks the talk that she preaches when it comes to breaking away from the “self help industry” and our societal and familial conditioning that preaches to seek help outside of ourselves and do all the things instead of just being and going inward. It was great to end the workshop with a SIT session for a chance to reprogram our subconscious minds away from this unhelpful self help industry conditioning. I would highly recommend Kim to anyone.
